A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to meet the President of Botswana at the Youth Expo held in Gaborone a few weeks ago. It was an exciting moment for me as I had never met him before and I was able to engage him alongside other ministers to tell them more about my business.
This moment really proved to me that despite people thinking I was crazy going for my dreams it was and still is worth it. A lot of the time we are stopped by fear and what people may think if we fail pursuing our dreams. I was the same way until I realised that I only have one life and would rather fail and say I did it, than not do it at all then live my life with “what if’s” due to regret.
Chasing your dreams doesn’t mean quitting your job or taking a huge risk like I did. Give yourself two hours everyday where you conceptualize/work on that thing that you’ve always wanted to do. I think everyone deserves a shot at doing whatever it is they are passionate about. It really makes you a better person. I’ve never felt the kind of joy I feel from waking up everyday and knowing that I’m doing what I love. This doesn’t mean that the path is rosy and easy. No no no. It’s far from that. It’s a journey filled many, MANY challenges however it becomes more bearable when it is something that you want to do.
Check out my video where I unpack this a little bit more and of course share with you my story about meeting His Excellency. Enjoy!
What’s keeping you from going for your dreams? Fear? Work? Family? etc. Let me know.
