How to Prep Natural Hair BEFORE Braiding | Protective Styling

Since going natural I have noticed that braiding hair while it is in its shrunken state can become quite difficult, painful and time consuming. This is usually because the hair has coiled up within itself and therefore the tangles may cause a lot of frustration.

STRETCH, STRETCH, STRETCH! Before braiding make sure your hair is stretched. I hardly take out my blowdryer but in moments like these I blow dry my hair on medium heat, then I stretch it out further by doing chunky twists.

This has definitely made my life easier and hopefully my videoΒ will help you too. I take you through the exact steps necessary when stretching your hair. You will see for yourself how braiding became less of a hassle once my hair was stretched.
